Diving Inside the Collection
Q: How often do you watch Titanic ? A: Titanic on VHS is constantly playing in the T room. So, everyday, baby!
Q: How do you decide which copy to watch?
A: Most VHS tapes are stacked from the floor to the ceiling, so they aren’t easily accessible. Luckily, we get tons of donations, so loose tapes are always on deck and each one is better than the last!
Q: Do you have any favorite copies?
A: VHS numbers 500, 1,000, and 1,997 are special to me. They mark milestones in our journey, and we’ve celebrated with each!
Q: What extremes have you gone to in order to get your hands on a copy of Titanic ?
A: Once, I heard there were tons of Titanic tapes in Colorado, so we flew out, rented a car, and searched high and low. There is a pretty extreme amount of time spent looking through various yard sales and thrift stores, digging through bins, and often we end up empty‐handed. The hunt is part of the fun, though!
