From Stray to Star
Caramel's story didn't start easy. In 2020, he was found weakly wandering the streets of central Florida with injured paws. Rescued and taken in by Vladimir Lenk and Stephanie Cox, he settled into a cozy life alongside their other pets.
Then, a few years after his rescue, something strange happened: Caramel's skin began to stretch. His veterinarian had never seen anything like it. The suspected culprit? Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a condition that affects the body's connective tissues. Humans, dogs, and other animals can be born with it, and it can cause symptoms like stretchy skin and overly flexible joints.
Living His Best Doggy Life
